Waiting for the Inevitable

Medicine, originally uploaded by DonnaGrayson.

I am waiting
For the inevitable
For the icy cold winds
To descend upon my head
And wend their way
Into the dark recesses
Of bones
Leached of elasticity
Ice cold too the creeping dark
Night that seeks
Its way insidiously
Over the blood red horizon.
Cold too my heart
Heaving with phlegm
My brow hot with the sudden
Hallucinating blackness.
The chills under the sopping
Blanket reminding me
That I have been to this place
But at last returned
To that other shore.
The windy sand blown shore shimmering
into the cold fathomless
foam green sea.

Sick of the sick season. Sorry folks. Will post again soon.
