Hayin’

Hayin’, originally uploaded by elefanterosado.

I’m not a big fan of self portraits. I prefer to get behind the camera rather than stand in front of it. But every once in awhile I’ll walk through the day feeling so much my country bumpkin self that I think, “what the hell?”

Today was such a day. Dressed in a 20 year old wool gray sweater, my oldest jeans, rubber muck boots and head scarf, I found myself in the bed of my pickup truck, unloading 40 bales of hay. My best pal Taz (a 10 year old miniature Daschund), an unrepentant attention seeker, suggested we pose for a photo op. And since the sun was cooperating and my husband didn’t mind shooting, I said, “why ever not?”
